How to "Fly" all over the island on your PC and see many of our Vacation Rental Buildings in 3D


Perhaps you have never been to Siesta Key, and are really interested in seeing exactly what it looks like. Or maybe you have found a Rental on the Web, and simply want to check exactly where it is located on Siesta Key. (See if it's really right on the beach like the owner says it is, or if it's really only a short walk to the Village, or the South Bridge Shops.)

Have you ever heard of Google Earth?


Google Earth is an incredible free application that you can download onto your PC. It allows you to then "FLY" all over the world - honest! You can practically "travel" the world and see many famous sites like the Grand Canyon or the Eiffel Tower - and all in realistic 3D!


Google is working with folks all over the world who are helping Google create full 3D models of Buildings in every country and city on earth, enabling PC users to "visit" and explore these places without actually being there. Using Google Earth, you can "preview" places where you may plan to visit, with an amazingly realistic experience that cannot be duplicated any other way! It is truly sensational - and it is totally FREE!!


We folks here at Siesta Key Beach Rentals are helping Google by creating 3D models of some of our most popular Resort Condominiums allowing potential visitors to really get a look at our island prior to actually visiting here.


Honestly, Google Earth is really worth taking the time to download and learn how to "Fly your PC" around the world with - and if you're interested in visiting Siesta Key, you can get a great feel for exactly what we look like! While it will take many years to fully replicate our island completely in 3D, we have 5 popular resorts modeled and in Google now, and will continue creating and adding them in the months ahead.


HOW TO DOWNLOAD Google Earth and visit Siesta Key in 3D


Start by going to Goggle -     Click HERE for Google


In Google, select "more" at the top, then select "even more"


In "More Google Products", find "Google Earth" and install it by following the directions


After you have downloaded Google Earth - you should try the built-in Sightseeing Tours - fly all over the world. Then after you learn the simple ways of controlling your 3D view with your mouse, you'll be ready to explore Siesta Key in 3D


NOTE: (above) you must have both "Terrain" & "3D Buildings" checked (turned ON) in order to see in 3D

A quick way to get directly to Siesta Key is to enter an address of a popular Condo Rental - like Crystal Sands - just enter its address in the "Fly to" window at the top-left on Google Earth - then click on the Mag Glass to be taken directly there! (below)


From here on, you are on your own - see how many 3D Condos you can fly to on Siesta Key!

PLEASE NOTE: Once you fly around Siesta Key in Google Earth, you will notice that most of the buildings are not in 3D yet - that is because of the time and labor involved in creating the 3D models. MORE GOOGLE TIPS - HOW TO USE GOOGLE MAPS TO EXPLORE SIESTA KEY

Start by getting the exact address of the place you want to locate, either get the address from the place's Website, or Owner, or try to find it searching with Google! (NOTE - Siesta Key has a mailing address of "Sarasota" …here's a couple examples:


Crystal Sands = 6300 Midnight Pass, Sarasota

Fisherman's Cove = 8900 blind pass, sarasota

BaySide Townhouse = 9209 Midnight Pass, sarasota


Next simply go to Goggle Maps -     Click HERE for Google Maps     Enter the exact address with the city - (exactly like above) - and click on "Search Maps"     Here's what you get for 6300 midnight pass, sarasota...

Now you can see exactly where you are staying, exactly how the Beach looks, (with the exception of Turtle beach, read below), exactly how far a walk it is from your location to Siesta Village, or the South Bridge Shops.

Hints: Use the ZOOM control (left side of screen) to get closer to the property…or farther away to see the whole island of Siesta Key….use your mouse (with the "hand" icon) to drag the satellite view up and down the whole island.

Once you get the hang of it you will see you can "fly" low over the top of Crescent Beach - Siesta Village - Turtle Beach - and see where everything is!

On the Picture (below), I've moved farther up north a mile or so to World Famous Siesta Key Beach!

You can see the massive Parking Lot - and Thousands of people enjoying the beach!




In the next picture I have moved South down to the end of Siesta Key, by the Turtle Beach Area.

(NOTE the satellite image is a couple years old - so you will not see new Turtle Beach that is now much wider and has no rocks, but you will see where it is at the southern end of Siesta Key - but all the rest of the image is very accurate).




You can clearly see that the TURTLE BEACH area (above), including the Park and Lagoon, is much more Old Florida.

You can see there are no High Rise Condo Buildings all over the place, it is much more pieceful and quiet, and way less crowded.




(Above) is a recent picture of TURTLE BEACH with its new wide and L O N G Beach!.

There is only one Condo down there with Weekly Rentals (Fisherman's Cove), then MILES and MILES and MILES of EMPTY BEACH all the way past Steven Kings' house on Casey Key, to Venice!.
